Perechea româno-italiană formată din Jaqueline Cristian și Angelica Moratelli a fost învinsă joi de cuplul Katarzyna Piter din Polonia și Mayar Sherif din Egipt, în sferturile de finală ale probei de dublu de la turneul de tenis WTA 500 de la Merida, Mexic. Meciul s-a încheiat cu scorul de 7-6 (7/3), 6-4.

Turneul de la Merida oferă premii totale de 1.064.510 dolari, ceea ce îl face unul dintre cele mai importante evenimente de tenis din regiune. Jaqueline Cristian și Angelica Moratelli au arătat un joc bun, dar nu au reușit să-și încheie parcursul cu o victorie.
