Cristian Popescu Piedone demisionează din PSD după alegerile parlamentare

Cristian Popescu Piedone, fost primar al Sectorului 5, a făcut recent anunțul că își dă demisia din Partidul Social Democrat (PSD). Solicitatea a fost transmită organizației județene PSD Giurgiu, acolo unde Piedone era membru. El a candidat pentru un loc de senator la alegerile parlamentare din 1 decembrie pe listele PSD Giurgiu, reușind să se claseze pe primul loc, dar fără a obține mandatul.

Motivul pierderii mandatului este o decizie luată de Biroul Electoral Central, care a decis să nu aloce două locuri de senator, inclusiv cel din Giurgiu. Această decizie a fost influențată de lipsa reprezentanților Partidului Oamenilor Tineri (POT) în toate circumcripțiile electorale. Astfel, Piedone a fost nevoit să renunțe la calitatea de membru al PSD.
