Cantina BufKids, parteneriate pentru a ajuta copiii vulnerabili

PENNY Romania, in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Romania and Asociatia Hercules, inaugurated the Cantina BufKids, a project that aims to provide a hot meal daily to 50 children from the day center in Buftea. The Cantina BufKids, which is part of the day center in Buftea developed by Habitat for Humanity Romania, is designed to provide each child with a nutritious meal to support their academic performance. As such, Habitat for Humanity Romania, supported by PENNY Romania, responded to this need by building a cafeteria with its own kitchen, named "BufKids" by the children. The cafeteria is a necessary extension of the day center in Buftea, as noted by Petruta Stanescu, Executive Director of Asociatia Hercules: "It would be inefficient to offer vulnerable children the most modern educational methods and opportunities before meeting their basic needs. One or two meals a day at the BufKids cafeteria, containing all the nutrients that children need for development, is the foundation from which we can begin to feed their minds and inspire them to have the confidence to pursue their dreams and a better future." The beneficiaries of the Cantina BufKids say: "Many people have come to help us build the cafeteria! We can't wait to eat together in the new building. We are already talking among ourselves about how we will cook and eat together. We have promised Mrs. Petruta that we will also help set the table and clean up. We like to take care of our center because it is beautiful and colorful and brings us joy. We have more friends here than at school and we like the teachers more because they are all kind to us. When I grow up, I want to help other people, just like the volunteers do now and like Mrs. Petruta and Flori. Helping others seems like the best job in the world to me." - Adelina, 9 years old. PENNY continues to support community projects and promote a healthy lifestyle, actively contributing to improving the living conditions of local communities.
