Ambasada SUA subliniază nevoia de creștere a cheltuielilor pentru apărare

Ambasada Statelor Unite la București a transmis, joi, un mesaj important referitor la bugetul pentru apărare. Potrivit newsbucuresti.ro, oficialii americani consideră că alocarea de 2% din PIB pentru apărare nu mai este suficientă în prezent.

„Pacea nu este gratuită”, au subliniat reprezentanții ambasadei, adăugând că „doar atunci când toți aliații își asumă investiții adecvate în propria securitate, putem garanta cu adevărat pacea pentru întreaga Alianță NATO”.

Ambasada a detaliat utilizarea acestor fonduri, subliniind că, deși anul trecut se aștepta ca toate statele membre să aloce 2% din PIB pentru apărare, doar două treimi dintre ele au respectat această cerință. În contextul actual, oficialii SUA consideră că acest procent nu mai poate răspunde nevoilor de securitate ale alianței.

Astfel, este evident că partenerii NATO vor trebui să cheltuie un procent mult mai mare din PIB pentru a asigura un viitor sigur.
