US Open 2025 va avea o durată extinsă de 15 zile

US Open, ultimul turneu de Grand Slam din fiecare an, va dura 15 zile începând cu ediția din 2025, a anunțat recent Federația americană de tenis (USTA), conform Reuters. Astfel, competiția va începe pe 24 august 2025, o duminică, în loc de luni, cum s-a întâmplat până acum.

Această schimbare vine în urma eforturilor de a îmbunătăți experiența atât pentru jucători, cât și pentru fani, permițând o organizare mai bună a meciurilor și o mai mare flexibilitate în program. Conform oficialilor USTA, se așteaptă ca noul format să ajute la atragerea unui număr și mai mare de spectatori și să ofere o vizibilitate crescută competiției.

Schimbarea programului va face ca US Open să devină prima mare competiție de tenis care se va desfășura pe parcursul a 15 zile, ceea ce ar putea influența, de asemenea, modul în care sunt programate și celelalte turnee de Grand Slam.
