Benzema, care a câștigat Balonul de Aur în 2022, a fost nevoit să stea în carantină pentru 17 zile în Mauritius în luna precedentă, din cauza unui trecut infecțios al virusului COVID-19. Acesta a fost oprit să se alăture echipei în timp ce se afla în vacanță în acea țară.
Potrivit sursei, jucătorul în vârstă de 33 de ani și-a reluat antrenamentele în Arabia Saudită, unde se va pregăti alături de colegii săi pentru viitoarele meciuri.
Benzema a semnat un contract cu Al-Ittihad în iunie în acest an, după ce a petrecut aproape 12 ani la Real Madrid, unde a reușit să câștige 4 trofee UEFA Champions League.
