Eliminarea surprinzătoare a Jessicăi Pegula la turneul WTA de la Beijing

Jucătoarea americană de tenis Jessica Pegula, actualmente pe locul trei în clasamentul WTA și favorita numărul 2 la turneul WTA 1.000 de la Beijing, a fost eliminată marți în optimile de finală. Turneul, care oferă premii totale de 8.955.610 dolari, a adus o surpriză, după ce Pegula a pierdut în fața Paulei Badosa din Spania, clasată pe locul 19 WTA și favorita numărul 15, cu scorul de 4-6, 0-6.

Badosa a jucat un meci deosebit și a reușit să controleze partida, impunându-se clar în setul secund.
