Sorana Cîrstea înfruntă o înfrângere la turneul WTA de la Madrid

Jucătoarea română de tenis Sorana Cîrstea a fost învinsă marți de americanca Hailey Baptiste cu scorul de 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (7/4) în prima rundă a turneului WTA 1.000 de la Madrid. Potrivit newsbucuresti.ro, meciul a durat două ore și 31 de minute, fiind prima întâlnire între cele două jucătoare.

Cîrstea, în vârstă de 35 de ani și clasată pe locul 122 în clasamentul WTA, a luptat până la final, dar a cedat în setul decisiv. Deși a reușit să revină în al doilea set, americană a reușit să își păstreze avantajul în tie-break-ul setului decisiv.

Acest turneu din Madrid oferă premii totale de 7.854.000 de euro, iar Cîrstea va căuta să își refacă forma în competițiile viitoare. Performanța sa în această competiție a fost privită cu interes de fani și observați.
